Oral Health Nevada Inc. knows that improving the oral health for all Nevadans can’t be accomplished in a silo. We believe that through collaborations with a broad-based constituency including, but not limited to oral health and health professionals, educators, industry, government agencies, institutions, and organizations, as well as policy makers we’ll be able to identify and address the health needs and programming gaps of those populations most vulnerable to oral diseases.

Community Water Fluoridation in Nevada
For more than 70 years communities throughout the United States have been adding fluoride to the public water systems to prevent tooth decay. Water fluoridation was initiated in Clark County in early 2000. Residents receiving water from the City of Henderson water system and the Las Vegas Valley Water District (Southern Nevada Water Authority) receive fluoridated water.

Nevada’s State Oral Health Program is located in the Division of Public and Behavioral Health within the Department of Health and Human Services. Its mission is to improve the oral health of Nevadans through education and prevention.
Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors (ASTDD) mission is to provide leadership to promote a governmental oral health presence in each state and territory, to formulate and promote sound oral health policy, to increase awareness of oral health issues, and to assist in the development of initiatives for prevention and control of oral diseases.
Medicaid CHIP State Dental Association’s (MSDA) mission is to develop and promote evidence-based Medicaid/Children’s Health Insurance Program oral health best practices and policies through innovative collaboration with a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
