Incline Village Community Dental Screening

December 16, 2014 By Oralhealthnevada Leave a Comment

Incline Village Health Clinic hosted the Free Children’s Dental Screening on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the Incline Village Community Hospital. This event, organized and managed by volunteers from several local organizations including Oral Health Nevada, has been held in Incline Village twice-a-year for more than 15 years.

At the November event, 24 children (1 to 14 years of age) were screened by Dr. Matthew Gustafsson, a pediatric dentist from Truckee, California. Dental hygiene students from Truckee Meadows Community College under the supervision of their instructors, Syd McKenzie, RDH and Julie Stage-Rosenberg, RDH applied fluoride varnish to the teeth of each child and provided oral health education to all families who attended.

If a child was determined to need dental treatment, they were referred to participating dentists in the region.
